BIADS' Dementia Day Care Centre

We are now taking on new members

BIADS' Dementia Day Care Centre

Get the rest you need and leave our specialised dementia team to look after your loved ones who are affected by dementia.

Full days, half days or pay as you go available please contact us on 01226 280057 for further information.

BIADS' FRIDAY DROP IN

Friday Drop In, everyone welcome at Barnsley Independent Alzheimer's and Dementia Support, Joseph Exley House, Dean Street, Barnsley, S70 6EX, 10.00-12.00.

Come along for a cuppa and a chat, youll get to meet our friendly staff and make new friends will our lovely members. If you would like any more information please ring us on 01226 280057

Dementia Information and Support for Carers (DISC)

DISC is for carers and family members of people living with dementia. It is an 8 week programme of weekly sessions.

Between 1 - 3pm each day. At Crossroads (Barnsley) Ltd offices, Maple House, Maple Estate, Stocks Lane, Barnsley, S75 2BL.

Dementia Information and Support for Carers (DISC)

The course will:

Improve your knowledge about Dementia.

Improve your confidence as a carer.

Give you practical information and advice about local services to help you and the person you care for.

Help you and the person you care for, to plan for the future.

Help you to prepare well for hospital visits, stays and discharges.

Help you to get the most out of your GP surgery.

Offer advice to improve the safety of your home and the person you care for.

Look after YOU and your wellbeing.

Help you and the person you care for to live well with Dementia.

Offer you follow on support after DISC.

Provides a single point of access for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of people with memory problems.

SOUTH YORKSHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE (SYFR)

We offer home safety visits to people who are considered to be at particular risk of fire. During these visits, firefighters or community safety staff will visit your home to give you advice on how to make it safer and what to do in the event of a fire. Call us on 0114 253 2314 and one of our community safety team will assist you in booking a home fire safety visit, if you are eligible.

Since our web page has started, we have hosted 2468 events, with 47 events still to come.
